Soak booted tanks
Got a rubber boot? Soak the tank in a 5-gallon bucket to flush salt from underneath it.

Carry a spare o-ring
Tanks have two. We swap bad ones free during testing, but a spare saves a dive — even a tiny leak eats your bottom time.

Brush the crannies
A soft brush while you rinse clears salt from the tight spots.

Never hit zero
An empty open tank lets water in, which corrodes it and creates particles that can jam a regulator. Keep some pressure in it.
